When the gauge will stop wandering I'll have to go and check if in the luggage trunk somebody put a flat six engine.

the gauge needle is rock solid and looking at the % display it changes by no more than 2 or 3% during normal driving. Steep slopes make a more significant difference, more as you describe.
But given my car spend its first year at the factory I'm not sure quite how standard it all is... Peter how do you cope with an accurate gauge. I would take it back and get them to replace it with the standard wandering gauge. It's part of the fun not knowing whether or not you will make the next petrol station.  Perhaps one of the electronics experts here could make up a little circuite to connect in the feed from the sender that adds random noise, so restoring true Morgan character....

The gauge on my Roadster behaved normally - and I assume the petrol tank was a similar shape.... As with all these things, if it's 'Normal For Norfolk' then I'm relaxed about it.

I tend to fill up when the needle goes just under half full, but as we can get 40mpg or better in a 4/4, it is less of an issue for us.
