Got it in one Stewart! Simmonds was getting small batches made for him but the machine shop he used took its time. It's a neater and more stable mount than the standard screen mounts. I gave up in the end and used the latter which worked perfectly well on my 4/4. I just wish I could use aero screens on my Roadster.

Jays - why can't you use aero screens on your Roadster?

The cast screen pillars do not come off the car as easily as the earlier stainless ones. On the 4/4, it took just a few minutes to unbolt the pillars from the plinths and unplug the heated screen cables.

Thanks Jay. Do you have to lose the heated screen part with a folding screen?

You can retain the heated screen. There should be enough slack in the cables to allow for the screen to fold. The only issue then is a lot of wire showing when the screen is upright and it's better to fit connectors so you can unplug the screen when folded.

The biggest issue with a car of your age is finding a mechanism that works, due to the tumblehome of the later screens.

That's one thing putting me off mounting my Aeros + it looks a little too cluttered to my taste to have the screen in place plus aeros and or mounts, as ever it's personal preferences with Morgans that count.

This unit made by Morgan Park in Germany is what I'm going to fabricate when I get around to it - remove the screen for summer (winter remove bar complete with aeros and mirror) and mount a 15mm x 6mm anodised alloy bar on the previous screen mounts on top of a U shaped neoprene gasket. This leaves the ton pick ups clear as you are well forward of the leather work. I don't particularly care for the filled in alloy panels on the pictured one otherwise I would have ordered it. That does look extremely neat

Interesting Art you mentioned the tonneau cover because that's the one thing I haven't resolved in my head and is putting me off taking the plunge and fitting the aero screens

I would have to get the cover trimmed and possible move two cover fasteners above the dash, which isn't going to look great plus I don't know anywhere to get the cover done quickly enough for my impatience
