Cheers Giles - have you had a little flutter at Ascot this year ?

p.s. Not too sure about Willy Carsons replacement Gok Wan seems to know his way around the fillies.

She is great Giles sorry to be a pedant but she is Clare, Heather was watching Ascot this afternoon and how much better the presentation flowed without her being hampered by Willy Carson chipping in with some banal statement as he has in previous years.
We should invite Willy on to TM as a guest speaker. Dont know how much he knows about FISH.

Chris Evans could be a good thing for Top Gear.
He has matured and is a car nut.
OK...his ££££££ mean he has a collection of expensive cars but I think he would include run of tne mill stuff in TG.
It is possible that he will have a female co-presenter but who?
I tend to think it will be a car nut too, not just a pretty face.
His contacts in the car world could make guest appearances or short term co-presenters an option too.
James Martin....chef.....is one. He has a collection and is a mate. CE was washing dishes for him a couple of Saturdays ago!
I hope that TG moves away from the silly stuff and covers a reasonably wide range with a mix of topics that can vary from week to week.
Even include some tech/DIY stuff.
I will watch with anticipation.

How about Amy Williams as a female presenter - she's now a rally navigator after her exploits on the Skeleton Bob

Ben Collins? He proved he can present on Channel 5's "The Classic Car Show" and nobody can say he can't drive.

I fully agree that Clare Balding is a very good commentator. However I have never heard her commentate on live sport being played by men. I just cannot stand the high pitched, empty screeching carried on by the usual female commentators. I abhor the obedience to political correctness that states that you must have a female at every twist and turn.

Your last sentence saddens me.

I've worked alongside many female colleagues, and all believe they have to fight twice as hard as their male counterparts in order to justify their roles.

Maybe you'd prefer the 1950's again..
