Noted this comparison of the 44 Sport and a Lotus Elise. The Morgan clearly not in the same league power wise but still a much praise http://www.evo.co.uk/features/features/234791/morgan_44_sport_v_lotus_eco_elise.html

Hello,
I owned a MK1 Elise before the actual +4.
Thers is NO comparaison between these toys.
It's not a matter of power, torque, speed and so on,
it's a way of motoring in the Mog and hard driving in Elise.
If you drive your Mog on road or track like the Elise you
have not understood the Morgan philosophy, you loose your time and money.
The only common point is the way they are built, with care by human people who know something about sport cars and pleasure
when driving them.
Best regards.

Hi folks,
I am the happy owner of both cars, and I like both very much. They both have roughly the same weight, same power, same build quality, but they are like two opposite faces of the same medal.

The Lotus is a precision instrument. It does everything you want very quickly and precisely. When cold, it is quite rough, but when the engine, tyres and brakes are warm, the car is like transformed. The way it goes through hairpins and up on alpine passes is unbelievable. Drive one (Elise S or SC, not the R), if you havenīt yet.

The Morgan is quite different, as you all know. Everything is beautiful like on a classic boat. It kind of flies over the road, bending and adapting itself to the surface. You give it a rough direction, and it goes there more or less. But thatīs fine.

I enjoy both of them very very much.

Andy

Oh yes. Before I forgot to mention:
The Elise S compares with the Plus4,
The Elise SC with the Roadster.

(performancewise)
