The danger is more when the car stops.

I don't think most dogs would jump out whilst it is moving but a harness is definitely a good idea to use all the time so one can concentrate on driving safely.

We got a dog on Tuesday from the local Jerry Green dog rescue centre , he's a two year old lurcher and very laid back .

I thought I'd try him in the Morgan today , I took out the seat base and stuffed his bed in its place and plonked him in , he immediately hopped onto my seat ! Anyway once we were both in I started up which alarmed him for about 5 seconds after that he was fine , either resting his head on the arm rest or the transmission tunnel . Did around 8 miles , he showed no interest in trying to get out , even when stationary .

I was concerned about the exhaust when getting out at home , but as I was getting out to lift him out he hopped out without touching it .

All in all very successful , although not sure I'll be able to find any goggles in his size !

Good lad!

Stringer will jump in and out at will when it's all nicely quiet in the garage, but he's not daft enough to jump in when I climb behind the wheel..

Ah well..

Just did today a 200 mile trip in the M3W with our dog Thirak, but if she could speak I'm sure she would ask for a good headset to handle the screaming bevel box noise.

This is what we put her on when taking her on our plane.

Picture was taken three weeks ago on our flight to Gloucester for visiting MMC.
We also had some superb walks with our dog on the hills in Great Malvern.
Cristal clear weather with fantastic views.
Nice hotel (Cotford hotel) as well with good food.
