That's a point (thought of this while reading the windscreen repair thread)
If you order the 29k 4/4
Presumably it has to be road worthy if you pay the OTR price so can a car be supplied without a windscreen or will Morgan/dealer fit an acrylic screen like the Speedster ?

I guess some of the M3W owners having a peek at this section of the Forum might be a bit bemused by the comments questioning how one could possibly enjoy a 4/4 without all the weather protection. MMC could go further and offer this speedster version without doors, just panel the whole side of the car (after all the M3W seems to manage fine without them) - saving all the trouble and expense of fitting doors would surely save more money; maybe it could also come with cycle wings on the front wheels - saving money and weight. Oh, hang on, we've discussed this idea before....
Maybe the whole idea is designed to save money on all the warranty claims on cracked windscreens (sorry sir, that's not covered as it's an aftermarket item....), to cut down on all the whining about the hood leaking, or perhaps to appeal to disillusioned 3 wheeler pilots who are fed up with all the reliability issues.

Makes this look good value. 4/4 70th Anniversary £27,450 11K miles 1.8 Duratec Fold Down Screen In Auto Trader Can anyone guide me in the right direction for solid wheels. I think they look wonderfully retro. Do they fit to existing splines? Where/ who supplies them? Thanks

Thanks These 4/4s were factory built limited editions and from memory, the wheels mounted onto a traditional hub with 4 studs, so not suitable for splined hubs. Maybe someone on TM with a 70th Anniversary can confirm.

Thanks There are splined alloys that fit a Morgan - +4 SS has them and I have seen 'photos of a car retrofitted with them. No idea if the offsets etc are suitable for your car / any Morgan though.

If the prices hold so strongly I guess second hand values hold up and most people are doing well.
It appears that is you bought an early 4/4 sport and looked after it then it will hardly have depreciated.

It's funny that this cut downh 4/4 should be announced now, it was only a few weeks ago at the Berrybrook open day that I was chatting to Steve Morris about how to attract the next generation of buyers into the Morgan fold, and suggested that Caterham were doing really well with their little 160, and could Morgan do something similar. It appears they can.
He did also mention what we all know, and that is the options list is a great attraction for someone buying a new car, so why not take advantage and earn a little extra money, it's not as if anyone is forcing a buyer to tick those little boxes.
I have been a great critic of MMC over the Three Wheeler and some aspects of the Trad too, and continue to be, but I think, like most other businesses they are not finding it too easy, and are trying to 'up' their game under the current board, I can only wish them the best of luck.

A Taffmogger has a Plus8 with splined hubs and a set of wires AND alloys that offer interchangeability. I have seen somewhere that conversions are possible....will have to trace the details.
