Hi,
I was wondering if anybody knows of the existence of a spare set of Bevel Pinion Mate gears for a 3HA diff (new or used). - The 7HA ones don't fit.
I pulled my diff down as a precaution as it hadn't run for 40 years when I adopted my Morgan, and one of the pinion mates was missing a tooth. - Actually I found the remains of 3 teeth in the housing so I think they were reproducing themselves in the diff oil due to boredom.....
Any advise or help greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
David.

This a link from the Gomog website to a company that do rebuilds and have spares so they should have lots of contacts - maybe worth an email. http://www.jb-engineering.co.uk/Good luck.

Thanks Richard.
I already tried JB Sports Engineering. Billy Bellinger hasn't got any 3HA bits but he will keep any eye out with his contacts.
I'm still searching elsewhere. Last night I came up with a possible option for a 4 Star replacement center or an LSD that will fit. The 4 star center is "unbreakable" but both options come at a hefty price.
Considering the fact that there was 3 broken teeth in the diff housing when I pulled it apart and the there was only one pinon mate gear tooth missing, it must have been an ongoing problem.
Cheers,
David.

David, Sorry to hear that JB didn't have any bits for you. I found another link in the States who charge $1,800 for a rebuilt axle but don't seem to have any other spare bits in stock at present. http://www.morgan-spares.com/plusfour/rearaxle.htmlI guess the perfect solution would be a written off car or one that had rotted out, not very likely I guess where you are. It must have had a major happening to create that much damage to the axle at some stage. Good hunting.

Just an update.
I managed to find a complete set of new old stock 7HA Pinion Mate and Side Gears and they fit the 3HA carrier perfectly. You cannot match the 3HA side gears with 7HA Pinion mates or the other way around because of the different gear profiles.
Cheers,
David.

That's great news and a huge achievement, given how hard this stuff is to track down.
