I was informed by the factory that, no, there is no impact as far as MOTs are concerned.

Oh good, should I be in the lucky position to order a new 3.7 Roadster then, what is the chance it will work properly straight out of the box, without having to spend and arm and a leg to get it to do what it should have done at the outset?

As I said "Talk to their Main Dealer and MMC" cheers

I have asked my dealer and he told me that the MMC offers these upgrade not for free. In Germany the costs for the upgrade is roundabout 3000 Euros. A lot of money for a fault that comes with the car

Can only confirm - even on a factory-new car you´d have to pay (& not only for the parts but for fitting via AR too... spend

I really do feel disappointed that Morgan see this as a profit making opportunity.

It is this sort of thing that upsets loyal customers, even if they increased the base price of the car to cover some of the development cost, it would sit better than charging around £2000 to make the car run properly.

You have to ask just what goes through the minds of the directors with this sort of caper and whatever happened to goodwill on both sides?

And, b.t.w.: rev-hang has been one, no: the main reason to part with my first 3.7! doh

Indeed, when I first saw this topic I assumed that it was free 'recall' or such ...

Hello,

I'm thinking about the next modification to my roadster.
Is anyone of the pioneers willing to comment on their long-term experience with the alternative ECU?
Problems with MOT?
Reliability?
Free access to further modify the parameters?
Power on a rolling road maybe?

Regards,

beltempo

coffee dear Beltempo -

besides "somebody" did assist MMC to source some desperately needed parts for the aftermarket AR ECU system they still haven´t delivered a single set to a customer other than the "prototype" (fitted to a TMers car!) & the sets fitted to their own race-prepped AR V6es doh crazy2 frown ... at least as far as i am in the knowing... innocent

So: patience is still needed...... but i happen to know the one that´ll (hopefully..) have one soon... oops
