Anyone know the true capacity of the fuel tank?
It used to be 12 gallons but I noticed in my Morgan handbook it states
55 litres to "E".
This tends to suggest 55 litres to "E" on the gauge.
We all know the accuracy of the gauge that stays full for hundreds of miles and then goes to "E" driving out the garage.
So is the true capacity still 12 gallons (66 litres)?

On my 2014 Plus 8 all the evidence suggests 55L is accurate.

When the warning light comes on (yes, I know.....) the tank will take 50L to fill up.
Reserve is supposed to be 5L

For reasons that cannot be properly explained the gauges, both analogue and digital, are accurate. They start to be confused by gradient/speed at about 20%, but otherwise they read as predictably as in my BMW or Caroline's Merc.
All very strange.

I filled my Plus 8 for the first time over the weekend and it took 57.4 litres and if I'd had enough patience, I'm sure it would have taken another 1.0/1.5 litres. Go figure as our transatlantic cousins say! smile

My 2008 4 seater was 55 litres, and my current 2008 2 seater is the same. My understanding, could be totally wrong, is that the tank capacity was reduced when the advanced EVAP canister was mounted alongside the fuel tank at the rear. I would be cautious of topping the car off though, many instances of reports of rough running as any overflow goes straight into this EVAP carbon canister and instead of the system being purged of fumes it gulps in fuel, tries to adapt and then the check engine light comes on and you have a multiple misfire code stored in the OBD. Not the end of the world it will sort itself out but repeat instances are not healthy for your Catalyser.

I'd get nothing in then! My 2008 +4 is a "slow fill" and I have to get the balance just right on the pump trigger, otherwise it just cuts out. It usually takes me about five goes before I eventually get the balance right.

Same here, quiet often think it's full with multiple clicks only to drive off and see the gauge showing 3/4 banghead

Try turning the nozzle to 5o`clock - it works on my 4/4 sport2010 - can then fill at normal speed.
Any idea what capacity on mine is - I thought 50 litres.
I set the trip meter on fill up and then fill at about 420 miles - takes about 42 litres then to full. I never like to risk getting anywhere near empty as it picks up a load of carp(as my dyslexic fish loving friend would say!) from the bottom of the tank.
OMC (Oh My Cod) - sorry just realised into fish again.

I put the nozzle into the filler cap upside down I.e. Nozzle tip pointing up for a quick fill.
