Great minds think alike although don't really fancy an aston.

The trouble now is if I stick what will MMC be producing in 2011, will it be a V8 Trad, I'm not sure this is what I would want, or will it be an aero replacement in the £50-80k price bracket.

If only we knew what the MMC model plan is for the future banghead

Maybe we can use the "TM ask Morgan department" to let us into the future and give us an idea of how much we will needs to save.

I´m sure it´s clever to invest S4. You can´t lose, neither in performance nor in fun. wink

Not sure I care what the model is. Unless it's a lifecar with a compact high capacity V10, stealth capability wing mounted cannons, ejector seats and night vision. That might tempt me. wink

Oliver - I'm sure you're right - a Vanquish would probably ruin me financially!

One can dream though - they do sound lovely. I'd probably just park it outside the house and sit and rev the engine, not need to put miles on it. would save wear on the gearbox too! wink


As for the S4 its a fair amount of cash to lay out to have the experience of getting a car to my own spec - a fantastic experience though, so I'll keep you posted on what I decide to do.

I thought Vanquish's came v12 and manual like the late db7's? I'll have to start readign up.
But come on a Vanquish is very practical since it has a roof and back seats and I hear a large boot for useful things.
So price wise it's nearly a S1 and a Vanquish or a new custom S4?

Vanquish came only as an 'automated manual' - same as ferrari system, but not quite as stable.

Manual conversion is offered by Aston as an aftermarket 15k option.

Vanquish S released 2005 - the updated vanquish with more power (over 500bhp) and is the run out model for the vanquish. Best Retail I've seen on these is in the 70k range - so same as S4 money. A decent service will probably cost as much as a Lotus Elise though...

I guess you can't morganeer in an aston, and an aero fits in the garage nicely.
Just left the office, wish I got paid overtime as i'd be chasing a max instead!

I am certainly no Aston Martin specialist but have a feeling that the last Vanquish S models were manual or available with this as an option in recognition of the problems with auto box.
