A very slow 55 sec run on the Shelsley Walsh hill climb track at Thrill On The Hill 2015.
I found it a very difficult and challenging track and it is difficult to sight the correct lines on the very narrow track.
I was well aware of the need to be able to drive home after the event. In our case an over 2,000 km drive home! I quite agree Peter, from my limited hill climbing experience I would say Shelsley could easily catch out the unwary or less experienced. Like you I took it pretty steady and probably was in the low fifties. The difficulty is that it entices you into getting a lot of speed up and the the beds are suddenly on you. Three of the bends are adverse camber as you enter, and one just after a rise, on any of the three you'd only need to enter slightly too fast and you could easily loose the rear end, game over.

Better to know Peter you didn't have a 2000km walk home! Engine does sound good with the throttle bodies!

Thanks for posting the great video Peter. So many top drivers say Shelsley is a really tough track, maybe that is why people have been coming back to try and get it right for over 100 years. The great Stirling Moss did some of his early races there and still says two of the corners (crossing and Esses) are among the hardest in motor sport to get right. I just feel we are so lucky to have had a go. I hope you enjoyed the trip and maybe we'll see you back here in the future.

Nice and wise run Peter, I envy the "growl" of your engine. Simon, that engine sound is also great, thanks for sharing!

Well done Simon. Quite a nice run you made. About 46 seconds? You've did it with a lot more confidence than I had, it must come from practicing on all those narrow English lanes.

That sound on the video is awesome... I keep looking at the cosworth throttle bodies for my plus 4 - I could be very tempted.

Mario- looks like we both did 45/46 second run- I watched your video- very smoothly driven. Must be all the Caramulo influence!
Peter- I nearly popped into Onex on the Friday morning to get a quick tune- in the end work got in the way! Otherwise we could have compared installs?- duratec vs Sigma?
English Lanes! Especially those in East Devon!! Hope you enjoyed your trip over ?
