Seems they have also borrowed my idea to sound proof the car....

From the MMC e-mail....

Soundproofing in the hood and throughout the body ensures a reduction in road and wind noise and an improvement in NVH.

Gosh...whatever next, ABS and Air Conditioning?

Well I love it !!"... Superb . happy3 I expected to be disappointed with the Same old same old Morgan but what a refreshing change !! Some fantastic up grades and a more modern interior ,not sure I like the head lights but the old type are so cheap it's about £40 to change them if you feel like it.
I'm surprised that the car is a cheap as it is in view of the equipment level .
The car does look so much better in the flesh and has a proper hand brake between the seats . joy
I will have a look again tomorrow having had time to sleep on it and see what the second impression is like.
I had a chat with the Cosworth guys about the ECU mapping and they are confident that this time MBE will get the mapping right for road use.
Unlike the Omex disaster with the P4SS .
The rain spoiled the atmosphere of the launch but it was well attended ,the forecast for tomorrow is much better.

If a standard trad was spec'ed up to match the P4, as close as possible, but not using a Cosworth motor, but something similar, say Omex, of similar power, would the overall cost be more, less or much the same?

There's no point in spending £55k then dumbing it down. It's another example of 'too much racer', with limited colour options and not enough 'bespoke'. I completely understand the limited edition marketing approach and I expect that they will sell well.

But it's a 'young mans idea' of what a Trad should be like. Or alternatively, anyone who's brought up a daughter - you know when they get to that age when they plaster make up on and look like a clown?

So much of this car could have been on an options list with a much lower start price. The Cosworth engine is listed on line at just over £9k so deduct the cost of a GDI, and that could have been a starting point for a Plus 4 to bridge the gap between the current Plus 4 and Roadster. I would rather have a low mileage 3.7 Roadster with a large bag of change than this I'm afraid to say.

As I said earlier, huge disappointment as the leaks implied that this car would be a fast tourer, but it's the same old same old, and the polar opposite of what I would like.

Looks like a comfortable fast tourer to me ? And Morgan need to attract younger buyers to traditional cars . May be this is a tow in the water for what the future holds.

The problem is that not many 'younger buyers' will have a spare £55k plus options. OK, there might be 50 kicking around....
