I guess thats right but faced with an offer of a new alloy one or paying extra towards a stainless steel one i would be happy to pay the premium to get a improved specification. I would not however let the issue spoil the enjoyment of the car or ruin my relationship with the dealer or Morgan. I know that can work both ways but after spending over £30k a few hundred more to make it that bit better seems like a no brainer to me.

If they offered me a stainless one for £2-300 I would probably go for that, they owe me one anyway for coming up with the "comfort kit".

Don't expect a stainless sprocket...the new style are steel but not stainless steel. You could always get your own machined up from stainless but don't expect much change from any figure you might find acceptable!

I've said it before, but if an owner isn't happy with the status quo and the offer from MMC, their option is to go to court, though I suspect one or two disgruntled owners may have done this, and rather than let this happen, MMC may have caved in but insisted on a clause prohibiting people saying what has happened. I would in their position.

In a way, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, as a consumer I want justice, and on the other I want MMC to survive to fight another day, which they may very well not if they are inundated with warranty claims, whether their own fault or not.
