I have noticed quite a few TMers have Four Seaters, that maybe because, having one myself, I just notice it more when members mention them

But anyway

I'm a huge fan of the four seater , I'm even one of those nutters who actually think it looks better than a two seater, I like the side profile and its long lines , even with the hood up ( yeh I know I'm a complete nutter)

But anyway

Inspired by Peter Drons informative and entertaining book on the 3 wheeler, and also because I do like to write a bit myself, while wandering around the Morgan museum today, I suddenly had the urge to do the research and write a book on the Morgan 4 seater.

I was thinking of including the 3 wheeler 4 seater as a chronological start but also include family experiences of touring etc

When I mentioned it to Rach, she also said to include a chapter on the misery imposed by husbands and fathers taking their family out in the freezing cold and rain and the arguments that ensue

Typical

But anyway

Does anyone think the book idea might be a good idea ? Or do you think it's got too limited an appeal so should be done as a website instead ?

Not that I would want to make money on it , it would be a labour of love but would want to cover any publishing costs

I like the idea a lot, Stewart. Beside the focus on the 4 seater perhaps It could be a view on the Morgan story out of a specific 4 seater angle. I would not bother too much from the start of your undertaking wether it will be a book or a website at the end. May be it could naturally arise during the process which kind of publishing it will be.

difficult to say which would be the best option in the modern world. Both interest me as an owner of two 4 seaters when the children were young.[not at the same time].

Eric, a few comments. Discard as appropriate.

When I traveled to Australia on business. Mostly I found 4 Seaters. Not sure why? And, there are huge numbers of the 60s vintage 4 Seaters in the US. (But, none of the newer models.)

You may have to travel to cover the topic well. And, if you don't, you may limit your audience.

Cheers,

Mark

Eric, when we were at Thrill on the Hill this year, Julie and I commented on the good number of 4 seaters taking part. I hope you do write a book. Good luck with it.

Good idea Stewart , for some reason I find myself increasingly drawn towards the fourseaters and like you I rather like the look of them , although not so sure about the latest version .

I think the big attraction of a 4 seater is that it actually has space to carry "stuff", which makes it much more sensible for touring, as opposed to competition.

Tarka is wonderful, but she lacks anywhere to put anything, other than a small space to behind the seats and a rack on the back. I would love a 4 seat body on a new Plus 8....probably not possible because of the suspension intrusion, but a "Shooting Brake" or pick up truck rear end would work, especially as there is no spare to be concerned about.

Go for it, I think you have found a gap in the market.

Possibly because I own one too but I also prefer the four-seater shape, the two-seater always looks like it's cut off at the back to me! Yes why not give it a go, I'm sure there is plenty of material.

With regards to the final format, I've noticed an increasing number of books I buy these days come from LuLu. The "print-on-demand" service seems to be well suited to niche titles.

Go for it Stewart...it's a great idea.

Watching the Jaguar Landrover guys being passengers around in the four seater yesterday, with huge grins on their faces, I can certainly see the attraction of the car.
I never use to like the lines of them but the more I see them, the more I have begun to appreciate their lines.....they look more imposing than the two seaters and have a certain elegance. Blimey......I never thought I'd be saying that hide
