The guard is plastic and purchased from a trailer company. I wanted the guard to move with the wheel and be as solid as possible. I played around with the design until it was firmly mounted but easy to remove.

If it will be of any help I can remove it and take some photos showing the support straps and how it is bolted onto the existing aluminium shield.

As this is a bit off topic I have started a new post.

If anyone has recently upgraded to the latest (black) rear hub, I would be very interested in having their old silver one. Obviously I'd be happy to pay a reasonable price and cover shipping costs etc.

If anyone can help, please PM me. cheers

Bunny, I have an old silver hub. Wondering what I was saving it for. If you can't find on in the UK you can have this free. Of course it will cost an "arm a leg to ship from California. If you can find locally would be best.

Thanks, much appreciated! - I might take you up on the offer but as you say it would be easier if I can find one nearer to home. thumbs
