In summary this would enable Morgan race meetings, of whatever type Aero Challenge, SpeedMog, Trials, Hillclimbs and other events such as Charity Track days, Hillclimbs, also it would enable members to post events of interest and invite others to attend. It would also enable Area Clubs to invite others from further afield to attend if they so wished. I think if setup and organised properly it would be of great benefit to all in MSCC and would enhance and open up opportunities to meet up with other owners with similar interests, be it racing events, attending classic car shows, or just meeting up for a chat. I don't see this happening overnight but I am beginning to look at how it could be achieved. It obviously would need support from others to be a success, and as others have said before a club is what you put into.

Ok everyone, I have laid out my initial thoughts in the above and after talking with a few others and reading this thread I have decided that I am willing to put my head above the parapet. For me it is a matter of supporting and enhancing MSCC for the benefit of ALL. So for those that find local areas not their bag for whatever reasons, if successful they will have a central MSCC area where they can find events, people and have discussions of similar interest. It would be open to all in MSCC so would enhance what is already available. I am fully aware that some in this Forum may say that TM does this, and I agree it does to an extent, however it does not reach all Morgan owners for various reasons. A Central Area within MSCC would IMO open up the world to those who sit out on the fringe, so to speak, and would bring would be an opportunity to bring together various aspects of the Morgan community as already outlined.

It is very easy to sit back and critisize an organisation, but MSCC is the one and only Morgan Car Club and like all organisations changes over time, some times for better and at times for the worse. I see this as a great way to enhance the club which belongs to all members and an opportunity to unify it in a positive way.

So to take this forward it will need to be supported, primarily 3 people to head up the National/Virtual Centre (same as any other area centre). I am willing to put myself forward as one of those 3, if I am thought suitable. Then we will need the support of at least 25 to 30 MSCC members to physically attend a MSCC NCM and vote for the proposal of having a National/Virtual centre, once accepted then it can be setup.

If any of you are willing to be one of the 3 then please PM me, or if you would be willing to come to the NCM and vote please PM as well. I have a reasonable number of MSCC contacts outside TM and will also be contacting them for possible support, but if you know any that would be supportive then please ask them to contact me.

Peter has my sympathy. I've done the committee / commodore/ treasurer etc job in several yacht clubs and always found the same thing. The work devolves onto a hard core of willing members whilst the large majority arent keen on doing anything much past moaning about what the committee do do. Not only that but they live in a dreamworl where every member wants the same thing that they want, if only the committee could see it, and you can change anything instantly by issuing an edict
