Thats a bit of a story.
I saw this girl walk up the street she had a body like a greek Goddess long black hair dark skin . My brain said I wanted some ( funny place for a brain ) when she walked her whole body moved . One night in a pub with my mates and their wives I got up to dance black suit but I had my brothers white leather heeled boots on ( must have looked a right dick head ).
Went out with this got engaged after a year ( I think ) everyone told me to leave it she would cause me trouble . Fell out with my mates over her she lied lied and more lied . But I never lied nor did my family so could not take it in . Heart ruled head she had lost her mother her father was ill . When he passed away I was given the insurance money to sort out any debt insurance chap did not trust the family . Her older sister and brother disliked me after doing that . Went out with it 3 year but she had done every horrid thing known to man behind my back . She just stopped seeing me bit at a time they got bigger each time , in Dec 74 it was over without me knowing .She phoned me while I was watching Morecambe and Wise on TV told me she was getting married in Jan , I was quick enough to say " is that all you bothered me for " the phone went down on me. Everyone was overjoyed even a tiny elderly lady in the street stopped me and told me it was the best news she had heard she was bad for you son. I met up with another bunch of lads and went through my wild times I had been hurt and it was not going to happen again . I called at a mates one night but he had gone to the pub his wife was out and a blonde girl I knew was baby sitting as she walked to the front door to let me out she was on the carpet in the hall, the old charm had not gone. I had changed and was never going to be hurt again , I would hurt them but not them hurt me so I said . My brothers sister in law was blonde stunning younger than me and called with sister in law ever friday I was starting to fall for her deep it was to sooth the hurt . I went to a friday dance and she would be there with her mother in law , my mates would pull my leg and say go on your girl friend is waiting for you . She once took my ring off my finger and ran off behind the pub I stayed put . Then another time she told me she had got me a lift home in a transit .I walked her home from the drop off point with her sister in law who went off to her home , went into her house the lights had fused so into the cupboard and was in it the house in darkness when her husband came in . He knew me and was returning to the night club with his mates , she went up stairs changed to just a dressing gown who knows what was underneath . I sat down and in she came with a full fried lunch for my supper. What went through my head was she had a 1 year old child I could never have forgive myself if I had been the cause of a divorce and the child suffered that is not me , just to quench my carnal lust. So I asked to let me out. A few months later she parted I helped her out but she had no interest in me. I knew I had escaped from being used to fill a love gap. When June came along I was a love them and leave them , she saw somthing in me that I did not know was there . Her cool never give in she was falling for me slowly I was to afraid to fall did not want to get hurt again and the rest is history .Love her to bits . Still feel like we are courting with a bit of luck and a box of headache tablets . Dare not put the other stuff that I got up to before I met my wife, sheer carnal lust I had no morals due to that horrid courtship . It would put Oliver Reed to shame.

Its self explanatory, look to the future dont make the same mistake twice . If you do then you are going backwards as life takes you forward .

The more one knows the more one simplifies .( Sticks in my head ) its handy

lifes a funny old thing and as long as you keep looking forward and learning from the experiences you'll never meet yourself going backwards.
p.s. If you work out what that means let me know John.

I honestly don't remember our first date. I suspect that MrsW will remember but obviously I can't admit to not remembering where we went.
What I do remember though is soon after I took her to Scarborough one Sunday and we had a lovely day out, She thought that this was fantastic because her family had never had a car, and I had a Triumph Dolomite 1850 (with overdrive), so quite luxurious at the time.

The shock came later when I traded back to a Midget and she first experienced roof down motoring.................

Took my now wife on a first date in my 4/4. She complained that it couldn't be a Morgan, certainly not a proper one, anyway. All the Morgans she had seen had wooden dashes. (Mine was leather covered at the time.)

Cheers,
Mark

I remember ours - it was a Marine Engineer's dinner and it was a "plus one" type event. Sue and I weren't going out at the time, just neighbours and she agreed to come along. There was a mix up and a double room was booked.

We were at a work event last night and she wore the same dress. Still as beautiful.

Good luck to you Lawrie.
If you meet someone you like and she likes you don't let anything stand in your way.

This thread reminds me of something the comedian Dylan Moran said -
" It happens to us all sooner or later. A bunch of blokes meet up at the same bar every Friday for an evening of mild intoxication and frivolity. Then one Friday one amongst them is unusually quiet. 'What is up with you mate?' you ask.
He explains he has met a girl and his life has changed. He can't live without her, he realises his whole life has led up to this moment and will be incomplete if he can't be with her forever more. Never has he wanted or needed anything so badly'. love
You may hear a group of women having a similar conversation, but do not be mistaken - they are discussing shoes." rofl
