I still can't figure out how to remove the seat back to tape up spaces and add sound deadening material. I don't want to destroy it whilst trying to get it out. Any advise? LarryS

open rear lid. remove plastic deck by unscrewing all screws. The four bolts are right there, two on the left and two on the right.

Iz zimple... You will then have to fiddle both top and bottom sections out. There are metal tabs attached to the bottom section which slide under the top section. Top out first.

You will then see all. You will be aghast. Clean everything before doing anything else. The road dust will be light colored. If there is black dust that will be the aluminum from the sprocket which will also tell you that the belt likes to eat aluminum sprockets! Talk to it sternly. It won't help a bit but you might feel better.

use reverse order to replace.

First remove the bottom seats...then remove the back storage cover.... Then 2 bolts on each side...... Thats about it

Thanks for the information. I wonder what the long term effects will be on the sprocket. Looks like another upgrade coming. LarryS

I wrote this a couple of years ago after struggling myself.

1) Remove both seat squabs by lifting front edge and pull forwards to release from under lower edge of lower back rest.
2) Remove plastic boot liner, 8 socket head button screws.
3) Remove 4 M6 hexagon head screws through rear bulkhead holding upper back rest in place.
4) Push seat belt receptors down out of the way.
5) Pull lower edge of lower backrest forwards over seat belt receptors, continue pulling forwards and push down on upper edge of lower back rest. This releases two aluminium tabs which slide down from behind the upper backrest as the lower backrest is pulled out.
6) Push upper backrest down to clear bodywork and remove.

It took me about 10 minutes to do this the first time.

Only thing I can add is step 6 : do rocking motion to free up and remove
