Morgans are roadsters, and have hoods that you can put up if you have to. Much better that than modern cabriolets, which are cars that have roofs which may be lowered if one wishes.
I'd aways had the trad type 'till my current 4/4 which has the easy-up. I really didn't like it at first as I couldn't see what was easy about it! Now I've adjusted it and had it in use for a couple of years it's grown on me. It is quicker to put up/take down that the trad type, not that that takes that long on a 2 seater though! I think it looks better from the rear than the trad type but, as the easy up has to remain in place when the tonneau is used it makes the rear look bulky and spoils the line of the car so I think the trad tonneau far better aesthetically. But as others have said look at both types and see what you like.
I ordered my car with the trad 9 stud hood and have never regretted it. I didn't buy the car to drive it with the roof up, I use the tonneau cover all the time.
I feel the car looks much prettier with the old hood. the hood folds up small and can be stored away, but is there if needed.
A chacun son goût !!

No experience of the easy up hood, but if you go for a traditional hood, get the tensioners as has been mentioned, plus stainless roof bars don't mark the hood inside. Worth tweaking the tensioner nuts a bit if you are travelling at speed as wind pressure can operate the levers and the hood goes slack. As the hood detaches it is worth getting a hood bag, i use a zipped suit carrier.
I prefer the look of the trditional hood but the convenience of the "easy up" hood.
But having looked at the hood on the new MX5 it is time MMC moved to the "Ever Dry Easy Up". The MX5 hood can be pulled into place in about 5 seconds whilst sitting in the driver's seat and clipped down. No need to get out....!
I would go back to a traditional 9 stud hood in Everflex if I ever change my car. The Easyup I find too bulky, especially with a tonneau and I like the clean lines of the car with no hood. I'd also love to go back to the traditional stainless screen pillars and alloy plinths....I hate the cast alloy pillars.

It will be interesting to see what the hood is like in the AR P4. It would be nice to see an easy up hood that drops out of sight in the way that the hood does on the new Aero 8. I would not think it would be impossible.
G, I have had a car with both hoods, the Plus 8 had the traditional stud hood. Water ingress and drafting was more than the easy up. However after some minor mods, such as small D section rubber along the hood just in front of roll that sits behind windscreen, some square rubber at the pillar post edges where the side screen meets and D section again on the side frames where they meet the upper door edge. The result was no more water ingress even at 70 mph in a downpour. I could get my trad hood up in 2 mins.
The Roadster has an easy up, as the name says its quich and easy, that's the only Pro IMO. I did have to make some similar mods to stop drafting, and stop water ingress at the top of the pillars where the roof clamps down.
THe line of a Morgan with a trad roof off is nicer I think. But it's personal choice.
