In truth I don't really remember, but somewhere around the 105-110mph mark on the speedo I think. On Monday it was showing about 120 or just over from where I was sat, although the turbulence was making it hard to concentrate on anything but the rapidly approaching Woodcote corner at that point.... But the extra torque is really noticeable and the punch out of the Chicane is brilliant.

And only two small component casualties during the day. I had to do an emergency modification of the Oil Tank Cap the night before as the gasket was just starting to give way and crumble (fortunately still in one piece at that point) and my 'fix' using a homemade gasket needed to be REALLY tight to stop it leaking. IT took me a couple of goes to get to hold fluid tightly - I HATE oil leaks! Plus it broke a 2nd Exhaust Stud on the offside cylinder again (the same, upper one), so this time I slightly repositioned the silencer after replacing the stud again, as it may have been putting too much stress on it. If I break another I will go get me a set of proper ARP studs and be done with it.

Best of all was the 97dB that the G56 pipes made at 4000rpm, which is quieter than the stock pipes measured last year!

I'm still waiting for the Morgan Stage 1kit - "more news" promised for Monday next week so we'll wait and see.

Pictures of our first motoring holiday in the 'Mapmog'.

We have just returned from an incredible weeks touring of The Peak District. Fantastic quiet and well maintained roads, marvellous vistas in perfect weather.

Highlights included Derwent Valley Dams, Snake Pass (we did it both ways)! and Edale.

Scampi (the navigator) loved it. Mog didn't miss a beat.

The Fairbourne screen not only looks good but is really practical too. Not to everyone's taste, though personally I think it transforms the driving experience especially as my car was fitted with a much shorter screen than earlier models.

We came back home to Gloucestershire in heavy rain on Friday and it gave us excellent protection. I have also sealed the gap under the bracket with a piece of leather and silicone and we kept dry all the way.

Driving in the rain was another first and I was really pleased with the gas closure tape (as recommended in another post by 'Dab of oppo'). All the gaps behind the seat have been sealed with this magic stuff and I checked the under the seats when home and there was'nt a drop of water even after 3 hours of wet roads and rain.

The Faibourne screen looks sooo period too!

Today the temperatures dropped below 30degC so we drove north to the wineyard areas. Last few weeks I mainly drove the 4/4 and now back to the M3W I still enjoy driving but increasingly hate the awful sounds of the belt drive.
Tomorrow I'll be at the Morgan garage to have service. If the squeeking will not disappear I will sooner or later get rid of the noisebag.
