Thanks John V6, never thought of that, will look into that, It was useful isolating the electrics because it never used a drop of electric when isolated and never needed charging afterwards, was always ready for use! The Aero and the plus 4 seems to use quite a bit of power whilst stood.

Sorry about the Welsh weather Magwa. But given I live in sunny Leicestershire would you recommend your solar charger and what make is it? I'm looking for one for my Peugeot which I'm going to have to leave outside for several months in the new year. (The Morgan and Mini will be tucked up in the garage with CTEKs attached!)

I have used the same CTEK XS3600 since October 2010, first on a Caterham and now on the Morgan. A vital piece of kit and no trouble at all. It is on all the time. Like DaveW I can't see the point of turning it off whilst away, yet leaving it on at night when at home. Three/four weeks away, say, and come back to a flat battery? No thanks. This is precisely what they are designed for - as anyone who SORNs, and uses one, will tell you.

Hmmm a good mixture of thoughts on the battery conditioner, thanks everyone, it has given me the confidence to leave it on, think I will try a week whilst at home to boost (no pun intended) my confidence, Cheers

I have a ctek
used mainly in winter when not out in car as often
Never had any issues.
Battery is an Oddysey...good one!
I stupidly left sidel;ights on few months ago and drained it.
Connected ctek up and she recharged well.
No problems with charging
left it connected for 24 hours to play safe and full charge back
no problems since either with battery or car

I have had Deltran battery tenders for years. Bought one for my 81 4/4 in in 90s and bought several since for the rest of the fleet. Leave them on all the time. I even have one that I have run over. It looks like hell, all bent and crushed, but is seems to be only superficial damage and it works fine. I don't have any of the gel batteries or other high tech stuff so haven't gone to any of the newer battery conditioners.

Cheers,

Mark
