Julf what would you expect to pay for a Bristol that can be used daily? What budget would you set aside for annual repairs and maintenance? It is an interesting prospect.

A decent one will cost you something like 10.000. Annual repair and maintenance should not be more than for any older family car. The engine is simple, with spares cheap and plentiful, and the only costly repairs would involve the rear subframe or the bulkhead if they rot. But if you have Bristol themselves do the work, they are not exactly cheap...

There is a 410 which is a 1967 at £14000

I had not comprehended how pricey the later Bristols are.

My parents had a Bristol 400 dhc, one of only two built, it was the first car I ever went in, not pristine, just our everyday family car back in the 60's. Bristol specialist Andrew Blow has the car now reg SMG 72 - 'smudge' to us . blue then but ivory now

Seems the asking prices for Bristols have really skyrocketed.

classic cars are seen as a safe haven for your money at the moment.I have heard of big money being asked for xk jags etc

And Bristols benefit from the factory buying up older 411's and upgrading them, thus helping create a scarcity of cheaper ones.
