I am tuning some monotube Bilsteins for the rear to match the monotube Bilsteins at the front in the RS kit. Or if fitting RS and 5L together then can choose Bilsteins nonadj front and back or Quantum adjustable monotubes front and rear. Or of course the Bilstein fronts can be replaced with Quantums. Cheers PJB.

It does look a great bit of kit and no doubt well engineered. There seems to be quite a bit of interest from TM members which begs a question. Mulfab has had their rear suspension system available for some time and has apparently had little take up. Why is this, too expensive? If so it will be interesting to see the price of this new 5 link system including cost of fitting. If its similar in price to the Mulfab system will those who have expressed an interest in this new system still go ahead?

John, good point on price - but also note that the 5L is bolt on, no welding with no changes to or removal of the body; the 5L also has quite a few technical advances over the MulFab system. We, PM & I, started from different places and ended up in different places. I started from scratch with calcs to achieve good ride, good handling and high roll stiffness, PM started from a race system that had such different needs. Horses for courses I think. Regards PJB.

Looks and sounds very promising.
I am certainly going to be near the front of the queue for the rears to match my Suplex RS front. Do I understand that I may need to change the current Bilstein front dampers for some adjustable ones to be able to ensure that the front and rear damping is matched?
Me to.

I have to say not having an interest in Mulfabs system for my car I have not investigated how it would fit and didn't realise that the body needed alteration / removal to fit the system so thanks for the clarification Peter. I'm sure a bolt on system with no need to alter the bodywork offers a lot of advantages to prospective buyers. This tends to suggest that the price of this new 5 link system will be more attractive. I will be interested to see how this develops and how people who have had it fitted report on the system. Good luck with this project.

Good to see you have reappeared PJB , the 5 link set up sounds very good .
Wondering where you went when those of us who bought the 3 wheeler shocks on your recommendation ( and not exactly cheap ) couldn't seem to set up the rears , everyone I know abandoned theirs . No replies to various posts or PMs .....

I designed the Mulfab system from scratch It was never a "race system", it has rising rate rear springing without resorting to dual rate springs. And most of the calculations were based on the work that Dan White and I did ( which has finally coalesced into what you now call the Suplex RS kit) 10 odd years ago when he was MD at Eibach and first getting involved with Morgans It is also an entirely bolt on kit
I find it very frustrating when people state things on these forums based on hearsay or opinion without knowing all the facts
For those of you that dont know me, a brief CV
Ive been involved in race preparation and restoration for over twenty years Whilst at university I did the development and longevity testing for Ford on the Sigma engines, I even built the dyno from scratch
I was president of my university motor club, and ran two self built rally cars with some success in the student road rally championship
After I left uni, I worked for a few companies, moving around developing and restoring cars before ending up working at RTCC as the Technical Manager in 2000
Whilst there, I built/rebuilt several concours winning restorations, built Richards HSCC championship winning +8, was race engineer for the successful RTM Aero 8 British GT team in 2003 (whilst running half a dozen odd historics at the weekends I wasnt doing GT's)
I rebuilt the GT Aero single handed for the 2006 Britcar 24hr race (it finished 17th overall, still the only Aero 8 ever to finish (as a classified finisher) a 24 hr race)
I also designed and built the Roadster for the following years 24hr race, where it ran without a single mechanical or electrical fault for the entire 24hr race
I was responsible for the Roadster lightweights (in fact that is where I first met Dan White), and I also wrote the design brief for the 4/4 Sport Competition, and presented it to the factory, leading to the Aero Racing throttle body kits and the revised back axle ratio (I even built the first one)
In 2009, I joined MulFab where I now support not only the road going cars with a vast range of improved parts, and the Morgan Challenge (every single car on the grid has parts I/we have made), but also the historic racing community at large.
Many of the cars racing at Goodwood or the Silverstone Classic and other prestige events have parts I have made for them (the Cobra that Gerhard Berger crashed at Goodwood a few years back had one of my radiators in it)
Ok rant over

Thanks for the summary Simon - I didn't know half of that! So you also have some Concours credentials.
