The utterly fantastic driving experience of the 3W can to some degree blind new owners to the utterly crap engineering that abounds on the 3W.
I have two years and 18000 miles under my belt on a 2012 car and the only original parts are the front wheels, gearbox, engine and seats.
In my early days, I was a bump steer, bevel box whine, denier and scoffed at any criticism of the beast. Experience has taught me otherwise.
However I love the old girl and am commited to a divorce free existance with her.
The Car and Morgan have pissed me off and impressed me in equal measure.
I think its time for Morgan to invite all three wheeler owners to a big love in somewhere down Malvern way, let us blow of a little steam and then we canhear what they have to say about future support to us all.
I still thank Morgan for bringing the 3W back to life( it must have taken some balls) and want to connect with the brand as well as the cyclecar.
Come on Morgan do something pro-active and inspirational.

I'm not sure they have the resources to do what we know they should do. Instead of being proactive, they are being very reactive and late at that. I think they know the problem but don't really know what to do about it, within their budget.

It's much 2014 love for me still..

My oilleaks were down to poor quality control from S&S before it came to Morgan, and a bad bevel box.

In 5500 miles, that's it..!

Lovin' it love

I purchased my M3W with my heart and not my head, although I did justify this in the fact I was buying into an iconic British brand. Morgan is a company most of us have a soft spot for. They actually make the cars we want to buy and historically don't depreciate much. I did not buy it as an investment and I didn't buy to re-sell as it was a purchase for keeps, my dream car.

I used to be a motor mechanic and have driven a good variety cars in my time - but none for me, come anywhere near to the M3W for raw fun and driving pleasure.

Ownership though is far from a perfect experience. In March last year on top of my purchase price I had to pay out for all the upgrades, thinking I would now have the car I originally thought I had in 2013. Now it seems I need to be paying out again. A crankshaft pulley mod that Morgan seem to be keeping secret, letting owners find out the hard way, by seeing it smash its way out of the timing cover. At least with this forum we get to know. Then there is the new steel drive sprocket to buy.

Due to a bad infection in my left foot, I haven't had the pleasure of driving my car this year. So at the moment it fires up sits on the driveway and goes back in the garage.

I basically put all I had into buying my M3W. It now being out of warranty not sure how long I can go with it, being on a limited budget? If money was not an issue I would stick with it all the way, as I don't want to own any other play car. I just hope we are now getting there and most of the problems are now getting ironed out.

Am I annoyed with Morgan? Yes!! They need to keep owners informed. It would be a good time for Morgan to do this with the letters they are sending out for the chassis brace to be fitted. Advising us of all the available upgrades and give an option of fitting at cost. They are a small company and couldn't possibly do this for free.

All I can say is if you can afford it - stick with it, it will get fixed - but it seems at a cost. It is this cost that will dictate to me how long I am able to keep with it.

I just hope the light is at the end of the tunnel! Although driving through a tunnel in an M3W is jolly good fun!

MMC did arrange a meetIng of M3W owners in January 2014 .
I was there and others on this forum. There were about 20 car owners present with many MMC management staff.

The meeting was chaired by Steve Morris and they were all very open and honest about the issues with the car.

I was left with an overriding feeling that MMC had a decent genuine desire to solve issues for all owners .

I do believe that this entente still exists today.

I do agree that often MMC communications are weak.
But in my experience they have the desire and the heart to stand by their product.

That is why I feel it is a good opportunity for Morgan to communicate with ALL owners with the chassis upgrade notification letter they are about to send out. No excuse for communication here as these letters are to be sent out to all owners of 2012/13 cars?

100% with all these sensible comments. Glad we have a core bunch of Morgan supporters who are not blind to the deficiencies and vocal enough to demand sensibly priced solutions.

We should resist paying for upgrades to defective parts although a small price to pay for an upgrade may be reasonable in cases where the car is not just made reliable but also improved. How to do this is a bit harder but a meeting with Steve Morris to show our support but also clarify our demands would be a great start. The meeting in Jan 2014 was - to my recollection - not an open invitation to all owners...
