Attended this show with Crunchie and the Ultima on Saturday for the first time and it really is a great event. Some really interesting flying, see the end of the photos posted for the plane shots. The Pitts Special was amazing and certainly looked like it was performing high energy manoeuvres to me, but what do I know? The highlights included the Spitfire and Hurricane duo, but the Spitfire being followed by the Typhoon was quite special. I don't know how the Typhoon pilot managed to hold station at those for him, low speeds.

The Vulcan was a star turn with a very interesting commentary and it is a shame that these summer events are the last time we'll see it flying whatever the reason.

The Armed Forces were very well represented and it was interesting to see a Russian WWII tank that was bought by a collector, apparently he has a huge collection of similar vehicles. Please don't ask me which model it was as I don't know, but there were various other WWII enactments by enthusiasts.

For us the main reason to be there was an invitation to do some runs up the runway and there were some really interesting cars in the paddock. See these photos taken by a friend from SKCC - Dunsfold Photos over 200+ from the Napier-Railton to the Porsche 917, and with all the diverse cars there it really is fascinating trying to identify them.
If you can make it next year I thoroughly recommend it.

The Pitts Special looks very much like Rich Goodwin who gave fantastic displays at Thrill on the Hill and Chateau Impney this year.

As I said earlier I can certainly recommend this show, the organisation is not as slick as a Goodwood event, but there was certainly many items of interest for either petrol-heads or those very keen on aviation.

Personally I would have loved to have met the owner of the Costain Amigo, one of the few post-war cars with a wooden chassis, other than a Marcos which Frank Costin also designed! I remember that it was considered to be highly innovative when launched, but sales were not helped by its Vauxhall running gear and VX 4/90 engine and a lack of creature comforts. Unfortunately our paths were not to cross, but it was a great privilege to see the car and in great condition.

The other item that was interesting and I hadn't seen before was a glider, that according to the commentator could pull higher G-force than a Pitt Special. It was initially towed by a plane and performed some manoeuvres and was then released, quite an amazing bit of kit. No photos I'm afraid and I did not write dos the name of it, so all in all a pretty poor report!
