If you go back to the Prius and your holier than thou eco ways, I may give you the honour of being the first person to be banned from TM I do love your diplomacy. Think its time you should try to get into the parliament as our MPs are being bannrred on a daily basis, may be you could claim your expenses on my behalf, so that I could afford my ASS

I must be in the wrong job... Unless you are the Honorable Graham G4FUJ MP, you are in the wrong job! It seems like we all are!

Hi, I´m new to this forum
Yes, the production of the Aero8 will stop this year. I was thinking about buying an Aero8 in a year or two. And now my dealer told me about the termination of production within 2009. Unfortunately, I really dont like the styling of the SS (I´m from Germany and I really wouldn´t name that Car "SS" by the way) and 135k are beyond my limits.
I really have no idea, what the trend of second hand prices after the termination of production will be. But if Aero8s will get more expensive, I would be thinking about buying an Aero even this year. (Although the idea buying it after 2010 would make me more relaxed due to my financial situation in the future :-) )
What do you guys think about the price of second hand Aero8s the next two years? Any suggestions?

Bones,
I don't think you have to concern yourself with a massive, rapid, appreciation in the values of Aero 8s after the production stops.
As a rule, the Aero 8s depreciation has been better than other £60-£70k cars over a period of 3-years; however, they do loose money and figures of £5-£10k within the first 12-months would not be unrealistic. What the car does do well is that the depreciation slows drastically in the 3rd year of new ownership and therefore, the Series 1 cars are still circa £35k (for a nice one), S2 are £40K+ and S3/S4 are in the £50ks (this is a general rule of thumb and some will be sold for more and some for less).
My belief is that the end of production will create a situation where the initial depreciation is slowed down (not stopped but slowed down) and that second hand values will harden. In time, I can imagine prices for good example used models increasing but this will take a few more years in my humble opinion and depend greatly on what the spiritual successor to the Aero 8 is.
I hope that helps but if you have any other questions, just ask.

Wow, that was really quick. And it sounds conclusive as you describe it. I decide to wait about two years as I planned before.
I appreciate your quick reply, Simon. I know some forums in germany, where you have one reply per month. :-)
Nice forum!
