Hi All
Thought I'd introduce myself since my Morganeering had become serious once more.
Started out with my first Morgan 20yrs ago in my early 20's with 2 consecutive +8s. Then came a wife and 4 nippers and lots of strange cars many of which I still have (much to my wifes annoyance)
I suddenly had the urge for another +8 so I bought an 88 last November after selling a V12 E-type roadster. Had a bit of fun in this 8, bought back memories of my courting years however the wife's not so keen (must be bad memories for her).
And now I have just bought myself an Aero 8 S1 with 14000 miles. Never driven one in my life so if I don't like it I'm in trouble. I pick the car up tomorrow so I'll report back with my finding......Wish me luck

Welcome Viper, I love your collection of cars and I am sure the S1 will fit in nicely. My Head Office also went off Plus 8's and we changed our order to a S1, which she loved. We are now awaiting the build of a S3... Do let us have your driving impressions when you pick it up tomorrow , are you buying it privately or from a Dealer? Anyway, I'm sure you'll love the car and also enjoy this group. Cheers Brian

Cheers Aeroman.
Buying from a dealer....will let you know how I get on.
My collection does extend a bit further, I added those as I thought they might be more in tune with the Aero buyer ??? Don't know how I got this one past the War department. Think she saw the +8 as a bit before my time....Ok when I was young though??
Have you owned your S1 from new? Had any aggrovation? When does you S3 arrive?

Welcome Viper! And as Aeroman said, I look forward to hearing your driving opinions of the S1. While I haven't owned a 911 GT3 (I have owned a 997 Turbo, 996 Turbo and 996 C4), I have driven one and imho, it is the closest road car in terms of feedback, soul and enjoyment-factor to the Aero 8. I would be very surprised if the modern Morgan doesn't put a very wide smile on your face within 5-minutes of getting behind the wheel! Nevertheless, welcome aboard Talk Morgan Simon

Have you owned your S1 from new? Had any aggrovation? When does you S3 arrive? Yes we had the S1 from new in June 2002 and like all Aero's the BMW mechanicals are pretty bomb-proof. The only problems we had were the usual Morgan type ones, with which you must be familiar, of which the most serious was a new hood as the original was very poorly made. We did some 15,000 miles in it and then swopped it for a SII which is now owned by Michael of this forum. Our new SIII comes in April 2007, as you can see we like Aero's and I am sure that your's will live up to your expectations, especially in view of your provenance. Looking forward to hearing your driving impressions... Brian

Thanks Chaps
Picked the car up this morning and drove it the 5 miles back home and then back to the dealer and home agian just now (It's dirty weather out there)
My first impression is that the car feels sooooo much better than I expected or was led to believe by media and some owners maybe that's because I'm used to strange and quirky cars. The car feels tight, no rattles, no major drive train clatter and very planted. These cars are exceptionally good value.
Not had much time to with it yet but needless to say, I'm very happy and looking forward to better weather.
I will post pictures when I can, probably on the aero forum and pictures of the 64Rs for Nick when I get it out of store.
The cars in lovely condition. Some of you may know the car as it's pearlescent yellow with blue and owned previously by Colin Treble.
Edited to say. HOW DO YOU POST PICTURES?..It doesn't look easy.

Edited to say. HOW DO YOU POST PICTURES?..It doesn't look easy. At the moment the easiest way is to post a link to a picture hosted by someone like www.photohost.org or www.photobucket.com (both are free). If you host your pictures on these sites (or any other), you can then use the Enter An Image icon above the text box (where you type the text for your post - third icon in) to put the URL of the photo location and it will post a link to the pic for you. Hope that makes sense?

Hi Morganeers, I'm also a newbie here,I went to the Geneva motorshow a couple weeks ago to look at the Ktm Xbow which I have a place for a pre series production, rather than thinking about my new toy car next year.I think i'm fallen in love with the aero8 instead.
The car is just simply oozes with CLASS, unfortunately a quick stab at the calculator soon put me down to earth!20k short!
Anyhow, this is my question, what exactly are the differences between the series1 , 2 and 3 apart from the obvious front headlight revision. I also noticed that some of them has 2 wipers oppose to 3 wipers, would the 2 wipers model a series 1?
And is there any aero owners up in the NorthWest/Manchester area who would kindly let me look at their beloved aero8 and possibly a quick passenger ride? Sorry for the long post.
Regards Kin
