Is it just me or is anyone else not remotely excited by the ARP4. It's just another of the seemingly relentless stream of limited editions.
You can't keep on polishing the turd, the trad chassis is not and will never be an Elise. Just giving it more power won't make it a Porsche.
Imho, the factory ought to focus on making the current range of cars to a higher standard, better quality or out of better materials. They've had decades to get it right, but let's be honest, they're still rubbish.

Your description is too hard in my opinion. A Morgan has no urge to become an Elise or a Porsche. I like her (4/4) the way she is. She is reliable and a nice nimble little sports car. I don't expect "more" and I don't want something else. She has own character and identity, delivering plenty of joy. Nothing against limited editions, especially if some goodies could make the way into mainstream production as it was the case with the Mazda gearbox, first used on the limited edition P4SS.

They can't be that bad because I want a new one and I'm OCD.

It must be!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Morgans, I've had 6 over the years, so I must be keen!!! I just think the factory might be better off trying to get good at the bread and butter stuff rather than getting too flash.

Morgan is trying to make a more focussed, more powerful and better handling Plus 4 with a well regarded engine; it was never trying to make a Lotus or a Porsche. I like the concept of an old tech chassis improved to make it more usable and exciting, but not to change its underlying character.

Just giving it more power won't make it a Porsche. What if you drive it really fast in reverse?

Back to my original point, get all the cars coming off the production line up to an acceptable standard rather that making a few specials that will be riddled with faults due to limited development.
It's only because there's such a loyal/mental/deluded following for the trad cars that the company is still (just) in business.
