I was once seduced by a MB CL600. All V12 BiTurbo and dead cow on every surface inside. I took it in for the 48K service (belts and everything taking 2 days) and they offered me a Smart Coupe.
I took it out anyway but after two roundabouts and a violent case on nodding head-itis due to the god-awful gearbox I turned around and took it back. I handed back the keys saying I would rather walk than use it.
I am certain if I had taken the time to learn the best way to get it to move it would have been fine but sadly it drove me instantly mad ! Basingstoke - land of roundabouts - with that horrible gearbox.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
I remember a trip to Salcombe a few years ago, when there was a new Carrera 4S in the hotel car park. The couple with this car did nothing but complain about luggage space on the first night. Under questioning it turned out that their Aston had suffered damage the day before the holiday trip. The hire company dropped the Porsche on their drive that evening - it was all they had, but the Aston owner didn't rate it at all.
Oh and a bloke at work took his Polo in for a service and came away with the big one - Tourag? V10TDI.
No pleasing some folk, they sound like the sort of people that complain about every little thing

I have to say I was extremely tempted by a Cayman before I bought the 911 Carrera. Caymans are fantastic cars and IMO are great value. If I had wanted a Porsche to use regularly I would have gone for the Cayman.

They really liked their Aston. I can't remember now what they said it was but it was DB9/Vantage or similar. They were boring old farts actually, but if somebody provided a gratis Carrera4S for the duration, I wouldn't complain about luggage room. How much luggage do you need?

Are you tempted Clipper? Would be your colour scheme. Have a look at US sites, how incredibly high those Turbos can go pricewise. The UK still seems to be relatively affordable regarding Porsche price tags.
I have to add, I now realize that this very car was the reason to open this thread in February 2014. That is an incredible rise of money...Anyway, as I posted 1.5 years ago, repairs could be pricey. Nevertheless a nice car. Will they sell her for the double now?
