I have used them twice First time the recovery was ok but they use real cowboys sometimes. The recovery driver was blind as a bat and drove off the road at one point. Last times was fuel pump failure and thetnwere gonna take thee hours to get to me. I was only five miles from Newbury so not exactly remote!!! Luckily the pump came back to life and i got home ok. Had plenty of time to ring them and cancel the recovery. Its cheap but not worth it. Check your with your Bank. I am with Lloyds and get free AA recovery. Didnt even know this until a month ago

I'd go with AA or RAC (or similar) especially if you have multiple cars - covers the whole fleet as previously pointed out.

I use Brittania Rescue LV £105 any car my lovely or myself are driving or passengering in.
Tried and tested last year with the Morgan write off, 1hours wait for flat bed recovery on a Sunday evening in deepest Devon, very courteous service.

Did Britannia then do the dirty and send you an invoice for their assistance for you to "pass to your insurance company" because recoveries following an accident are excluded? The AA do - Scumbags. They use disreputable practices on renewal rates and then try to renege on their services when you need them.

They did send me an invoice but one quick call to Hiscox via(Headley) and it was in the post to them. Incidently Hiscox recovered half the excess as well without request from me. Renewal time with Brittania LV is on a rolling basis and has seen no increase for a couple of years. I think £105 is good value for the service they offer. Just a happy customer. p.s. I fondly imagined the AA would behave in a gentlemanly/womanly fashion, I'm disappointed to hear that.

Like Peter, I've been with the RAC for years, and used them half a dozen times and always found them to be fine, they have either got my car going or organised a ride home with not too much delay, with pleasant operatives and reasonable vehicles.
I will be staying with them.

In the event of an accident which renders your car undrivable your insurance comapny should arrange a direct recovery. No need to involve AA, RAC etc.

Headley weren't picking up on a Sunday afternoon quite wisely, I have their number in the mobile. Is that a known blanket ruling or company specific out of interest ?

I used Morgan rescue once & they were efficient. Quality of service is down the local agent the contract. Since I'm a life AA member after one year I used AA & they sent a patrol who could do nothing simply organise the collection. It all went well.

I'm surprised that more of you don't seem to have a breakdown/recovery facility in your insurance policies. I assumed that was what Morgan Recovery was? As others have said, insurance policy cover can be cheap but (unless you have a Lexus) if you have two or more cars the cost quickly overtakes AA or RAC membership which covers you for anything you drive. ~iw
