Wonder how many they are managing to sell?
Tried to find out but failed.
They sell them in the US as a "component car" without the engine and gearbox.
Half their cars are going overseas and they have orders well into next year. They are a month behind on deliveries. They had 5 cars in build on our visit and the cars take 3 weeks to build so their capacity is about 80 cars a year. I waited 9 months for delivery.
One of the reasons I bought the car was that this new start has a very focused business plan and deserve to succeed. They are not dreamers who have designed their dream car and then find the build is to expensive for their target market.
They designed the car to a price and have a clear understanding on what they are and who will buy the car. They also know what they want in terms of residuals and also know what the company will look like when it is finally done.
What is more impressive is that many of the staff I have met can articulate the strategy!
As for selling cars in USA without engine and gearbox; I think that is a well used route for many small volume manufacturers and include Morgan.
