Build June 2014, 7000 km so far, four bobbins renewed at first service.
No modifications, no problems, but a screaming bevel box.
Butterflies in my stomach? Every time I drive her!

I don't think anyone should have to put up with a screaming bevel box. My mid 2012 one is quiet and always has been.

Surely someone should be able to sort it out?

Are we sure the noise we blame the bevel box for isnt the belt eating the rear sprocket? I tried some dry ptfe lub on the belt and the noise i suspected was BB went away for a few dozen miles.

I think the belt eating noise is more of a chirping in my case. It seems to be a "they all do that, Sir" kind of noise.
But who knows?

We know. Yes, they all do that. It IS a belt eating noise. Give him a bag of kibble and walk away...

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.

2013 5 Speeder, August/September 2013 build, took delivery (Northeast US) last week of September 2013. Now have 3400 miles, have "Comfort kit (early 2014)" and chassis upgrade (A week ago). Three flatbed recoveries, first with about 500 miles, flat left front caused by pinched tube from new, second with about 1,000 miles, on the way to the dealer for thousand mile service, snapped rocker arm, third with about 2500 miles, failed fuel pump. In between each recovery, great fun but I have to share time with my '64 +4 otherwise I'd have double the miles. Now to enjoy the autumn!

2014 model. 7000 km. Crankshaft pulley bolt unscrewed and cracked the metal cover. Cam belt also fucked as a result.
Bevel-box is becoming just a slightly bit noisy after a while.
Drive-belt is making a screaming noise when I release the throttle and motor-breaks.

Thats all for now.... :-)
