This is worth a read.

Road Trip

I still want one to partner the Plus 8..... hide

I am very aware of all the issues...I just don't care.
I want one. I've kept my bike gear, in preparation.
The only problem is swmbo who won't let me spend the money.

Excellent and sympathetic article from someone who "gets" it.

I love that shade of silver, looks great on the car.

A good read indeed. Peter Egan certainly has a way with words.

I was interested in the 'straight from the horse's mouth' S&S comments regarding the necessity of the engine cowl to prevent a temperature gradient across the cylinders.

However, this doesn't sound right:

'It's helped, no doubt, by its wide, five-foot front track (13 inches wider than my 1965 Morgan Plus 4!)'

By my reckoning the 3 wheeler is only 90mm wider than the current 4/4.

But isn't the 2015 4/4 wider than a 1965 4/4?
Trad cars have been getting wider over the years, the 2013 Plus 8 is the widest at...
Wait for it...
5' 8"!!
shocked2

On alternate weeks we can swap. You get to play with the M3W and I get to play with a five litre Morgan.. grin2

What a superb write up of what sounds like an idyllic M3W roadtrip.

I love his friend's comment:

"This thing answers a lot of psychological needs, all in one vehicle. It's equal parts Gipsy Moth biplane, Hacker-Craft mahogany speedboat, classic motorcycle, and vintage sports car. But it's new and modern and doesn't need to be restored."

A perfect summary of what its all about wine
