How about a suitcase with a plastic bag inside with ones stuff in to keep dry , costs nothing as everyone already has one ?

We get very funny looks when we march into a hotel with our body bag......

It's a fantastic dry bag which we couldn't do without.

It's suprising how much stuff you can get behind the seats. When this pic was taken in Wales, we were enroute to Ireland for a week - two travel bags, some cleaning stuff etc with coats(hence lumpy middle).

Admittedly, was with a friend rather then missus though.
