Reversing is an option, but space on the right is also limited, and I prefer the exhaust pipe at the door............
A ront facing exhaust pipe would solve that problem.

I use a string hanging down centred in the garage as an aiming point for the mog. As it only has overriders I know when I hit the string I should stop.
For the Merc I have some white tape to aim at with the three pointed star.
Both garages are approached up a steep hill so these aiming points help

It'll be mirrors on the bedroom ceiling next! If they are not already in place and that's where the idea for the garage originated from.

Post Photobucket re-post..................... This is my tight access to garage number 2. The photo shows it well.  I've just added a couple of convex mirrors, one to each wall. There's already a large overhead mirror in place.  The one on the offside will allow me to get closer to the right hand wall: The one on the left allows me to get close to the left hand wall with the nearside wheel arch: Close:  Closer:  This is all about getting a standard width Plus 4 in the garage. I can get the narrow body in and out first time most times now. Practice does make it easier!

Precision parking required! Not a lot of room to get the car door open once in the garage. Do you have power steering or strong arms?
I thought I had a bit of manoeuvring to get in and out of my garage but it's easy compared to what you contend with.

Once inside there's plenty of space. The problem is the single car length between the end of the house and the front of the garage.

Dave, Carolines new wheels shows just where parking technology is going.  At first I dismissed it as a gimmick, but I now have to admit it is really good..the system is fed by 4 cameras, one front, one back and one under each wing mirror housing. When the engine is running yellow lines predict where the car will go and the angle of the steering wheel alters the predicted path. The view changes from front to back according to the gear selected. The shaded parts are the areas where the parking sensors functionL it aims to keep the car 10cm from any object front to back. Of course this is a stage in the development of autonomous control, but in tight carparks it is a real help!
