Hi y'all,
One of the fixes I'm prepared to invest in is to get the engine pinking sorted (after 3 years or so) and the improved breathing seems to be the way to go rather than just retarding the ignition and losing yet more power.

Comments welcomed on whether this is the way to go. I haven't installed the cooling kit because it's so ugly and I have been warned the ecu 'upgrade' also reduces engine power. Ridiculous of course but there you go.

Can anyone shed light on which of the different options they prefer if they have any comparative experience - Morgan, Garage 56 or Krazy Horse...?? confused2

I decided to go for the Morgan Stage 1 kit.

The air filter fitted perfectly but my dealer is still struggling with Morgan over the exhausts.

The left pipe was too short to reach the header, the mounting bracket was too small for the bobbin stud to fit and there was no mounting for the heat shield.

After several weeks of toing and froing with the factory the end result is that as my car is going back to Malvern for some bodywork Morgan are going to fit the exhausts. Apparently they think it's a 10 min job.......

Having said that there are 2 M3Ws in Austria with the stage 1 and they sound awesome.

The G56 also sounds good and is a straightforward "plug and play" fit. There are several of these out in the wild and I'm sure Black Adder, R1nga and Charles Kirby will have more advice on these.

Yes, I'm leaning towards Krazy Horse and Love Jugs or similar. I think KH even do a cooling kit...??

All reports I've heard so far for KH are very good and credit where it's due is very much the motto for any M3W specialist!

have you actually heard the KH exhsusts? - very loud and not in an entirely nice way - sound to me like the silencers have been removed totally. the G56 ones look good and sound great as well and would be the route i'd take

I have the stage 1 air cleaner and the sport pipes without baffles scheduled to be put on here next month at the dealership in Detroit.

If they are the Morgan (Aeroracing) stage 1 exhausts make sure you insist they have heatshield mountings......

I have the stage 1 pipes with no baffles in and a G56 air cleaner. With the standard set up I used to hit the top of the torque curve about 4250rpm and from then on it was a waste of time pushing it any further. But now it's 5250 before it flattens off and is noticeably quicker through the gears.
So much so I found myself topping the ton the other day without trying too hard.
