My exhaust mounts were not modified to fit the stage 1 / stage 2 silencers, direct replacement for stock. I confirm they dont have the fasteners for the heatshield. I have to say I found the heat shields annoying anyway so used to run without them so no loss to me.

My G56 kit fitted perfectly, but I did elect to go for the bigger mounts to accommodate the new, bigger, hex-shaped bobbins that come fitted to the current cars. Lovely bark on big throttles, but can be driven quietly if required and very comfortable on a cruise. Make good power/torque too.

We must do a side by side comparison some time !

Further to recent posts about a successful 1000 mile round trip with the latest G56 pipes fitted, here's a couple of pictures of their solution to the potential risk of cracking around the front joint. The risk I guess is that any heavy pipe is going to be more susceptible to vibration induced fatigue cracking, so further isolation of the relatively high mass of the silencer from the rock and roll of the engine can only be a good thing. I suspect a similar solution would be perfect for those of you suffering with Brooklands exhaust failures.

Indeed, I'd love to meet up again at some point. I'm really happy with the way my car goes right now, but your keen reference to the S&S Roller Rockers will likely see me on a trip to South Wales sometime in the not too distant!

And please forgive my wrapped pipes, as the 'cheap' black bandage I bought off FleaBay turns white when it gets hot and wet.....!

At a fraction the cost of the engine upgrades, I think this has real legs. There again I have it on top of stage 2 .....

It looks as if they have added the small flex joint in front of the silencer since releasing the kit. I don't recall seeing these on BlackAdder's or the original pics from G56

Not sure if it's a precautionary change or not, but it is a relatively recent update I guess. Not aware of any customer pipes with issues, but maybe there have been. Either way, it looks right from an engineering sense, and as they say, if it looks right....!

Charles Kirby had a prototype with the second flexi at TOTH, this was only a week after I had found one of mine had failed around the silencer weld at the forward end.
Although I wasn't best pleased at the failure, the reaction from G56 was rapid and they were genuinely horrified that one of their pipes had cracked.
