Was under the impression that the power steering pump issues we solved with a couple of Years production - mine is a mid 2003 S1. Interesting that the pwoer seems to be there sometimes but not at others.
fyi the car has only done 500 miles in the last 18 months - I've added 2,500 in the last 3 and a bit weeks, so I'm guessing I'll find out which niggles need sorting pretty quickly
