Service Completed - Car Cleaned
I've now compelted (*) the full service ( see here for the original post with the list.). I changed the a little as I went on and the completed (typed) list is here. I have the hand written one in my file, but its marked with oil etc.! I am pleased with the end result, everything feels tighter (it should I tightened everything!) and sorted the timing, gave the car a tune up etc. Today the run to the winery for lunch was cancelled and as it was threatening rain I washed the car (first time properly in nearly three years!). Off for a run this evening around Kings Park. [* - new K&N air filter and housing awaiting delivery)

There are some vey nice details on your car Richard.
Agree the current air filter looks a bit "blingy" but I am sure the K&N will deal with that.
Have you thought about using a smaller gel battery on the bulkhead rather than risk acid escape and corrosion (or worse) over the driver's feet?

I will go for a gel battery next Andy - but keep a close eye on this one for now.

A cracking job Richard - that manifold is a thing of form and function in harmony. As you suggested the air cleaner is more hot rod Hemi than Morgan, the K & N will perfect the engine bay. Nice to see a proper starter solenoid under there. With your excessive ambients a dryfit wouldn't last five minutes, temperature kills them rapidly as it accelerates the chemical reforming process prematurely. Every 10C above 20C halves the useful life of a chemical mat (dryfit) cell, I suspect you could easily reach 40C ambient . Witness Neilda's new +8 failed within the year with very spirited driving.

Thanks.
Good point re the temps. 40 degs is a warm day in the summer - typically mid thirties in the summer....

Looks very today and cared for Richard. Pride of ownership is great and you get to know the foibles of you Morgan, they are all slightly different. Mine is sat in the garage and is rather dirty after its day out in the rain to Williams and back yesterday. I was going to wash it this morning but as I have to return on Friday I will wait as the forecast is not great this week, then it will be gearbox/axle oil change, grease up, nut bolt check and a general fettling, ready for the odd winter day out.

Re underbonnet heat....I plugged my diagnostic unit in and did a test run. The incoming air got to 35C from 15C ambient. My air filter box(polished stainless) has been measured at 45C outer surface after a run. I am starting to look at better heat control under the bonnet. Winter projects perhaps. Car is a Plus8 so engine bay is quite full!
