Service Completed - Car Cleaned

I've now compelted (*) the full service ( see here for the original post with the list.).

I changed the a little as I went on and the completed (typed) list is here. I have the hand written one in my file, but its marked with oil etc.!

I am pleased with the end result, everything feels tighter (it should I tightened everything!) and sorted the timing, gave the car a tune up etc.

Today the run to the winery for lunch was cancelled and as it was threatening rain I washed the car (first time properly in nearly three years!).

Off for a run this evening around Kings Park.

Possible by 76 there was a filter, but as made in 1972, Woodstock had no filter at all. Just a little hat! So a K&N was fitted, to protect the engine, not the usual boy racer reasons.

Could be it was added in '82 when the car came to WA due to the dust??

Richard, congrats. A good maintenance on the car is very satisfying and I find it somehow cathartic. A good run to a winery or the wine cellar is very appropriate when completed. Sorry your winery visit was cancelled but perhaps not the wine cellar . . .

Cheers,

Ford Kent (x/flow) 1600cc. Mainfold is the Librands one (as is the full exhaust) see here.

Sounds wonderful to my ear!

With regards to the air cleaner would yours have had at one time the polished aluminium type with the Morgan name cast into it? My 69 had a very cheap and tinny air cleaner when I bought it. It took me some time to track down one of the cast Morgan ones which look nice IMO.

The piping is in for the one-shot but only delivers oil pressure to the gauge. I am trying to keep the car as original as possible with sensible (invisible?) upgrades, such as an electronic ignition module. Planning to change the seal beam units next I think.

I would like an original air filter but K&N seems to be the closest I can find. What I have not is a common part down-under so I suspect it was added here. It works fine, but the pattern part maker for the air filter has changed the outer fixing from metal to plastic and increased the diameter ever so slightly so it does not fit the housing....just the excuse I was looking for to change it!

A good idea to use the one shot oiler to provide oil pressure to a gauge. I think I will incorporate this during my re-build.

It's motivation to get my 81 4/4 out. Need to do kingpins first though.

Cheers,
