Approximately 9:17am April 3rd 2015. Metallic Sports Sand +8 with mulberry leather/nutmeg piping and walnut. 4,000 very happy and rapid miles already. PJ partly to blame for wooing me from the rebel base of the Roadster.

A question my wife & I considered was Plus 8 or new Aero 8 as they seem so close price wise.Is this a quandary others have had & what made their mind up? Cheers Graeme
Hi Graeme The Aero 8 wasn't an option for me earlier this year as it hadn't been announced. However, I still would have chosen the Plus 8. I prefer the classic look. Underneath they're pretty much identical and I suspect there are more toys on the Aero. It depends what butters your muffin in the style stakes.

October 2015 +8 Firenze Red with Ivory leather, still in my garage awaiting paperwork from our wonderful DVLA.
Out of interest is there anything you +8 owners think I need to be aware of? I have taken note of comments regarding tyre pressure and keeping the battery on trickle charge.

Worthers +8 Yes, the back end on cold tyres in winter, especially when wet...it can be lively. Oh, and the ability of the car to make you smile whilst drinking fuel.... last, but not least, kerbs....

I've found mine to be delight, I don't have to forgive handling, greasy nipples or anything else. Very happy. The couple of things I would say... they're a bit of a bugger to get fuel into. There is the 12 o'clock flap hinge technique (!) which helps a lot. As noted above - traction will be broken if you mash the throttle, so feed in the power with respect unless it's warm and dry. And the wheel rims are easily damaged and impossible to repair! Like many Morgans, the front end of the bonnet rubs on the paintwork (it's a tight fit). I have bought the small rectangular leather protectors to prevent further wear. That's about it. It's an easy car to love - I drive it in preference to anything else as it happens.

"12 o'clock flap hinge technique". I missed that one, but have experienced that filling the +8 is more problematic than that of the roadster.
Whats the optimum position for the fuel hose nozzle handle?..not the fuel nozzle, which I recognize is best in the filler hole. I think the last time I filled the tank it was in the 3 o'clock position.

I think the last time I filled the tank it was in the 3 o'clock position. Filling the Plus 8 is a bit of a faff... 1. Ensure the flap hinge is at 12 O'Clock. 2. Keep the nozzle absolutely square, so the trigger is at the 6 O'clock position 3. Don't fully squeeze the trigger to start. The flow rate varies a lot between fuel pumps. At the local Shell garage at Waitrose there is one that I can use at full flow, but at the BP place I have to be very careful with all the pumps and keep the flow rate down. Done carefully, and with a bit of luck, a 100% fill is possible. But not certain! Done without thought a blow back is certain....

I think the last time I filled the tank it was in the 3 o'clock position. I'm not sure if PJ's description is clear enough (sorry Peter ) If you look inside your fuel filler (flip the cap open) you'll see the entrance to the tank is blocked by a hinged aluminium flap - it pushes out of the way with the fuel nozzle. This 'assembly' (the flap) actually rotates. Either with your fingers or with the wee tommy bar on your keyring, move this assembly until the hinge of the flap is at the 6 o'clock (dead centre bottom) position. The flap then opens (obviously) from 12. For some reason, this makes filling considerably easier. Does that make sense? Kind of hard to describe. PS -Peter, that's right isnt it? The hinge should be at 6?

As inventor (and copyright holder) of the "twelve o'clock" system I remind you that the inner flap should hinge from 12 o'clock so that the flap is out of the way, that is, not interfering with the air trying to escape. Tsk, tsk................ Nick
