I happened to stumble on this thread on PH http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic...n&mid=49572Quite eye-opening the number of issues with owning a brand new Rolls Royce.

I don't know how noisy the early ones were but my 2015 Bevel Box was quite noisy when I bought the car. The handbook says it will get quieter with use and at 3500 miles 2 up its quite acceptable volume wise. 1 up it is louder. I guess this is to do with the tension of the belt?
The volume seems to vary but it certainly isn't ever unbearable. It can never be completely silent as its only under a thin cover right next to you.
Sometimes it takes a while to wake up and after 10 miles or so we often say "Good morning Mr Bevel Box!"

Send PhilipNZ a pm and I'm sure he will give you a very good resume of his 2015 model experiences from an Antipodean perspective for balance as it were.

Almost 2 months and 1000km now, driven almost every day and not an issue at all. I am totally in love with it. Even in my epic yacht race weekend my mind kept wandering to today (a holiday), so I was determined to sail home in one day and for the chance to get out in my M3W in the sun. It's a stunning day for it

Thanks for the replies so far; perhaps I should mention that the enquiry stems from a protracted 3 wheeler enthusiasm which as a former Guzzisti almost resulted in the purchase of a Triking some 20+ years ago. My current motorcycle stable extends from a 1917 Triumph to a 2014 Triumph (both belt drive!) which provides an equivalence to the Morgan history; I do expect the Thunderbird to be more reliable than the Model H however. ....... I wonder why so many M3Ws for sale generally have such low mileage? Whilst closely monitoring the M3W since 2012, and having driven one at Prescott, I endorse the decision to reintroduce the concept, and my recent interest has been renewed by the idea of the Grindelwald Treffen since I have a house close by. But, reliability is paramount in a £35k product, and a motor vehicle must be fit for purpose; not withstanding tongue in cheek comments regarding Toyota etc. it is the norm for other manufacturers to issue general recall notices where necessary, so with 1500 units produced perhaps Malvern could act likewise. Perhaps the factory could provide data on the incidence of warrantee claims on MY 2014-15 M3Ws so that prospective purchasers could gauge the development progress ..... or did I imagine yet another flying pig ?

Regardless of price, if you cannot tolerate imperfection, this isn't the purchase for you.
