At end of July the engine management warning light came on so car was recovered to the dealer. There were some warranty items to do at the same time. They said the fuel filter was part blocked so new one fitted as well as new plugs & air filter as they thought a minor 'wet sump condition' had occurred. With all faults cleared & memory wiped all seemed fine.
After much prevarication MMC agreed to replace R/H headlamp & both lamp brackets & repaint front wings. The chassis brace was promised but did not arrive. The needed rear sprocket was not available till September.
After 3 1/2 weeks I collected the car & drove 90 miles & 5 miles from home the same warning light came on briefly went out & came on again. After phoning the dealer they thought the lambda oxygen sensor was probably on its outer limits but it would be OK to drive till the rear sprocket & brace arrived. In the following weeks on 3 occasions the warning light did not come on till 15 miles travel but mostly on all the time.
Two weeks ago I took the car in for service at 2 years 6500 miles, the engine warning fault & fitting steel rear sprocket & chassis brace. All the work was completed & lambda sensors fitted & fault cleared.
Last Tuesday I went on the bus to collect it but by the time I arrived it was broken again. They had started it up to move for cleaning & the engine warning had come in again. They had thought it maybe the air pressure sensor in the intake so had swapped it for a known good one but no. All electrical connections had been checked. They had tried to get more advise from Morgan & were waiting a call. They were advised to do a further check & as negative it was likely an ECU fault. I went back home on the bus.
On Friday the dealer phoned & said all was now well. A new updated ECU had been fitted. The running in rev limits had been removed by Morgan. I collected it yesterday Saturday & it feels better than ever. It pulls better & the exhaust is maybe quieter. Belt noise has gone & the bevel box is quieter perhaps there is a bit less belt tension now. There is no extra vibration from the chassis brace & I reckon the mirrors vibrate less. I thought the ride was a bit worse but after checking tyre pressures & increasing the rear by 3psi its OK now but maybe I'm kidding myself.
So all the time it was an intermittent ECU fault bringing on the engine management warning. I'm pleased with the outcome but not with the nearly 6 weeks it been off the road a large part of this caused by Morgans slow response to dealer warranty, parts & advise requests.

I had mine changed also by Morgan France and I am now driving it to Athens (Greece).
The ECU is almost everything on a modern engine...
Happy ECU = Happy driver !

My ECU packed up in the summer. The car seems to run better on the new one
I did start a thread about it a fees weeks back
