I had a local Chipsaway chap out for a similar scratch - fortunately not as deep. He echoed many of the comments above - they are not equipped to do big panels in that way. I have used them for bumper scuffs and they were great at those but not for main panels.
Peter J's idea of a Wrap in the interim is a good one - even professionally fitted it will not be expensive.

Sorry,but " a top quality home repair " is not possible in this case . Unless you have an spray-cabine and oven to heat the new vernis.

Charles, so sad that this has happened to you Skoda.
As you are expecting to move at some time in the future, as a temporary fix, I would be tempted to touch up the scratch before it begins to rust. Use cocktail sticks to feed in the paint.

Car scratchers are everywhere - not just in our towns and cities. The wife used to own a business in a 'nice' village in Bedfordshire. Her Jag got keyed on a number of occasions. Always took it to a professional - they can make most scratches invisible. My heart goes out to you - just so wrong!

....and when they do catch them, which is rare, they are let off. I'm thinking of that waste of organs who keyed the Aston Martin and was filmed doing so.
