All my 3 Mogs had dials that misted up usually just the fuel gauge
The Roadster mists in all 4 small gauges in varying degrees.
Peter I don't know if LEDs would help as the gauges themselves also produce heat & they mist up without the lights on

I did some research on misted dials and it seems that the combination of older technology (hot wire etc) and incandescent lighting causes the condensation due to the heat inside the gauge.
The modern solution is to use low power electronics and led lighting.
Modifying older gauges to eliminate condensation is difficult, with various schemes such as drilling vent holes, inner glass treatments, hermetically sealing and drying the air with a desiccant, filling with an inert gas all having various degrees of success
I have one gauge which misted frequently so I first tried drilling an extra air vent (fail) and then tried to hermetically seal the gauge (fail).
In the end I tried (as an experiment) using a small 12V aquatic air pump to gently blow air through the gauge. This actually seemed to work.
If the misting comes back this winter I will probably install the pump as a longer term test.

I think the lights within the dials of the new Plus 8 and the Aero range are permanently on - pretty sure they are. I might try turning the dipper for them right down to zero for daylight running and see if that stops or reduces the 'warm inside/cold outside' issue.

The air pump is an innovative idea which is tempting.
I suppose the the intake air temp will be critical for this to work effectively, but it's worth considering for winter use, providing the pump noise isn't intrusive.

It soon goes in my experience Sorry I should have mentioned my comment was aimed at the idea of an air pump - it sounds quite a complex solution to a small issue which doesn't seem to affect the driving experience or the functionality of the dials

It hasn't been a problem for me in seven years Stuart, but a demister for the gauges would make a nice project. The problem is for the Roadster that would be six gauges, but only three for Bumble - but the big ones hardly ever mist up. The little ones have the mist problem - it must be a function of the air capacity inside.
