A great review and they definitely "get" the M3W.
What a shame the Aussie rules and taxes mean so few will be able to enjoy it down under.

I'm not quite understanding the rationale behind the cam belt cover and valve covers. Also, in picture 15 of 17, what is all that plumbing going to some sort of tank the size of the oil tank?

Simply put it all comes down to the Australian Design Rules. In summary due to the weight of the M3W it becomes classed as a car and therefore has to have various items (or not!).
Since it became a car, the windscreens then must have wipers, washers and demisters. Clearly not practical so they were replaced by "wind deflectors". These must be non-reflective.
Similar issues with the growth at the front of the car.
Some of the mods required for the rules make sense to me, the headrests in the roll loops, higher level brake light (despite it obscuring the rear view mirror).
So the rules are one thing. The ugliness of the finished product is another.
That said I am sure you could remove most of the mods and the local authorities once registered would be highly unlikely to ever know/pick up on this. But your insurance.....

In addition to charging for all those mods, I wonder if MMC also nicks you for the 1500 "ROW" charge, too?

Richard, you've put so much into your M2W how about sneaking in a Fairbourne Carrage wind screen, it really works wonders. Also, any way to get rid of the mustache?
