I'm not putting a plate on front I've had a black and silver Morgan plate made, my other 3 wheeler piaggio mp3 has no plate on front ,it as twin hand light but law says piaggio can only have one side working in uk

From https://www.gov.uk/displaying-number-plates/rules-number-plates" If you ride a motorbike or motor tricycle Motorcycles and motor tricycles registered on or after 1 September 2001 must only display a number plate at the rear of the vehicle. If you ride a motorbike or motor tricycle registered before 1 September 2001 you can also display a number plate at the front, but you don’t have to. Motorcycle and motor tricycle number plate numbers should be on 2 lines. " I took mine off when I collected it and haven't been stopped

I like the look with no plate. I had thought it would be a bit bare but it suits it quite well and may improve the cooling of the bottom of the motor.

I like the conspicuity of a number on reflective plates at this time of year. I can relish the look when I make it home safely..!

Scott the Piaggio MP3 is classed as a motorcycle & thus does not need a front plate. The M3W is classed PLG ie a car so I reckon it does need a front number plate.
I had a MP3 which I traded for the M3W. On one occasion took it to a MOT tester that does bikes & they refused as it has 3 wheels. Took it to somewhere that does trikes & bikes & they said first place was talking cobblers.

This has been much discussed before ! And is a somewhat grey area ...
Although the M3W is taxed as PLG due to its weight , its body type is given as tricycle in the registration document .

Has anyone in the UK passed an MOT without the front plate fitted? Yes, I did.

It looks good without a front plate. But do not drive to fast ;-)) Because without the front plate the police has a lot of trouble to identify you on a photo of a speed camera..... :-)
