The Peking-Paris rally looks a jolly spiffing adventure! It'd be good if some of the cars were also in attendance, but it may be that they're already packed & boxed by now..

And there's a Morgan +4 going on it
I should know
I made the chassis, front suspension, fuel tanks, radiator and back axle!

Suspension somewhat raised I hope!

The front Crossframe is made from 4130 Chrome Moly Steel, This is stronger than the mild steel normally used for Morgan front frames, which allowed me to use a thinner gauge material and save some weight, it should also spring back if it gets a wallop rather than deforming as the standard frames do.
It also allows for an additional 2" of wheel travel

The stub axles were bored out and larger diameter kingpin tubes fitted (1" 3/4 OD T45 steel) to give some much needed strength here, this allowed me to use a larger diameter kingpin (30mm Diameter EN19 Hard chrome bar as opposed to 25.4 mm EN8 HC bar) again for increased strength.

Instead of phosphor bronze bushes the front kingpins slide in Iglidur J4 "plastic" bushes, these will actually run lubricant free to prevent any dirt from adhering to the kingpins and potentially jamming the front suspension. A large part of the route is across the Gobi desert, and the sand would play havoc with conventional lubrication

As your can see from the pictures the front springs are dual rate to give a compliant ride and soak up the worst of the ruts
