Hi John, I have used floor paint in several garages and I have to say it does need refreshing and how long it lasts is very dependent on sealing the concrete properly first (PVA with water mix 50/50). I am looking for an end of roll heavy vinyl for my garage as I think this may be a better solution, easier to wash down and clean. However if using axle stands or jacks then I think care would be needed by putting think wood strips under to ensure the vinyl is not punctured. Heavy carpet tiles appeal but then the can collect oil/grease and could easily start to look messy. Let us know which way you go.

I've got Dulux Garage Floor Paint. Mostly holding up fine. Will need touching up this year (same on the tyres from other buildings being constructed on either side of us has taken its toll).

Whilst at the NEC show today, I visited both the Mototile and the Ecotile stands. Both products seem to be good, solid, sturdy tiles, they both come in all the colours and all the patterns (grey coin-top is my choice) but for me Ecotile came out in front, for 3 reasons:
1. The tiles are manufactured in the UK, in Luton as opposed to Motoile which are imported from China
2. The salesman lives locally to me, and I'm a big believer in doing business as close to home as possible
3. The company is very happy to talk about environmental issues and understands the importance of managing the impact of their manufacturing process
All of which means my money will be going in Ecotile's direction.

Whatever you use, make sure that your trolley jack wheels will roll on it. A friend of mine used carpet tiles until the time his jack didn't roll as he raised the car. It slipped off and he wrecked the bottom of his radiator!
