I love Tallis as well. Very calming & great on long haul flights or in Ryan air cattle prod queues.

Very happy normally to just listen the the road and the exhaust.

When music is desired, Tchaikovsky's Pathetique stirs me along.

For a modern sound, Crowded House, Queen, Tears for Fear, Inxs, Dire Straits, etc. and any good saxophone will suffice.

Cheers,

that is indeed correct. if you want something a little more chilled-out, then theres an off-shoot of drum and bass called dubstep. smile

IF I had a CD player my choices would be:

Caught at traffic lights next to someone playing loud heavy metal or whatever - massed bagpipes. On the open road, wind in the hair, some music by Ron Goodwin from a 1966 Oliver Reid, Rita Tushingham movie - "The Trap".

The Trap

I am into classical music but this theme just makes me think about driving across the moors, early morning, sun shining, road to myself - very self-indulgent.

Should have thought of this before (tablets!) - for lovers of classical music there has to be one piece above all others. Think, Malvern Hills + Morgan + Elgar! If anyone remembers the early Ken Russell documentary on Elgar, with the young Elgar cycling at speed through the Malverns - the music was his "Introduction and Allegro for Strings"

Wind in the hair classical music

Exuberant music if ever there was.

It depends what you drive.

In my trad' roadster: V6, by Ford (even if I have a stereo, I rarely use it)

In other cars, a little bit of Wagner or Red Army Choirs, something which leads you to invade Poland.

70th anniversary coming up too. To think Morgan was only 30 years old when Poland was invaded.

My choice of music was related to a quote from Woody Allen, about Wagner's music and Poland invasion.
("I can't listen to that much Wagner. I start getting the urge to conquer Poland")

I guess you mean the last invasion.
Poland was invaded many times since the Xth century.
